FIELD PLACEMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Engaging community-based service learning experiences for health profession students interested in learning about the care of vulnerable populations including the social determinants of health, culturally competent care and interprofessional practice.
Health profession students gain experience in urban or rural underserved communities learning their role alleviating health disparities as a future health care provider.
COLLEGIATE HEALTH SERVICE CORPS
CHSC is a service learning program for college students who are interested in pursuing a health career. Through training and service college students learn about health careers and build their application for health profession programs. Successful CHSC members complete 20 hours of participation. CHSC is a state-wide, service-learning program represented at Connecticut universities including, Western CT State University and UConn-Waterbury.

YOUTH HEALTH SERVICE CORPS
YHSC is an award winning health career recruitment program that engages middle and high school students in quality service learning projects that address pressing community health issues. Through service, YHSC members explore health careers while acquiring real life experience working with underserved populations in community settings. Successful YHSC members complete 20 hours of participation the following areas: Training and Workshops, Pathways to Health Careers and Service.
