Health profession student teams provide social emotional learning education sessions to elementary and middle school students in an after school setting. Social emotional learning teaches children to:

make responsible decisions
LIFESKILLS
TRAINING
Health profession student teams provide LifeSkills Training in substance use prevention to elementary and middle school students in an after school setting.
LifeSkills targets preventing the use of gateway substances and violence. LifeSkills provides students with training in:

personal self-management

social skills
-
drug use resistance skills
RURAL SUMMER
IMMERSION
Multidisciplinary health profession students participate in a 2-week clinical shadowing program in rural northwestern Connecticut where they experience the benefits and rewards of rural practice.

rotate at a variety of medical facilities

gain exposure to clinicians in primary care & specialty areas

participate in social experiences
