Harness the power of national service at your organization by becoming

a host site for a Healthy Minds Alliance AmeriCorps member.

Healthy Minds Alliance is an innovative AmeriCorps program that increases the capacity of our partners to address mental health needs in their local community. Established in 2013, Healthy Minds Alliance has partnered with a variety of organizations from across the nation including universities, school districts, community health centers, health care systems, mental health centers and AHECs, and more recently, crisis call centers who host one or more Healthy Minds Alliance AmeriCorps members. AmeriCorps members serve full-time, 40 hours per week for 10 months, building capacity at their host site to address local mental health needs.

WHAT DO HEALTHY MINDS ALLIANCE AMERICORPS MEMBERS ACHIEVE?

Healthy Minds Alliance engages AmeriCorps members of all ages and backgrounds to meet critical mental health needs in communities served by their host sites. Healthy Minds Alliance AmeriCorps members receive training in an evidenced-based mental health program identified by their host sites (e.g. Mental Health First Aid, QPR, SafeTALK, etc.). The members’ service year is focused on implementing mental health programming, empowering the community they serve by teaching skills to a broad array of individuals that improve support for people living with mental illness. AmeriCorps members may also serve with a crisis call center, helping to meet the ongoing demand brought on by the transition to 988.
