Member Spotlight: Danielle Asenas Serving with Crisis Text Line

Updated: Sep 30

Danielle Asenas is approaching the end of her service term and has much to show for it! During her term, Danielle has assisted texters on the 988 platform, ran IT for events at Crisis Text Line, participated in chat support for these events, and hosted a few events on her own. Danielle has taken advantage of every opportunity that comes her way including learning how to complete transcripts for 988 communications and contribute to community wellness posts for CTL. Danielle has completed the CDC Public Health Foundation training, and multiple trainings within CTL, which she notes has given her a wealth of knowledge and appreciation for professionals in this field.

Danielle feels lucky to have had support from her site supervisor, Brianna Hollis, as well as the rest of the CTL team. She is proud of her participation and feels that she made the most of every opportunity to help, allowing her to provide the best support possible. Danielle notes, "The most fulfilling part of my service term has been the friendships I have made along the way. And that with hard work, I have hopefully impacted many lives positively."

Inspired by her current experience serving with HMA & Crisis Text Line, Danielle hopes to serve a second AmeriCorps service term! By serving with CTL, Danielle feels she has been reminded how easy it is to make a difference and how even one conversation can lead to lasting changes. When asked about her experience serving, Danielle says "My experience with Healthy Minds Alliance has been both positive and uplifting. My time with Crisis Text Line has made me grow and I am hopeful to keep helping others in any way I can."

Danielle’s story is an inspiring example of the power of service and the difference one individual can make! Her commitment and passion for helping others are truly commendable, and we look forward to seeing the continued impact she will have in her future endeavors.
